  Notice of change of Human Rights Conference Hotel

  s you may have heard, the CWA Human Rights conference hotel has been flooded and damaged by the catastrophic monsoon storm in Phoenix. In this circumstance, under our contract, the Hilton is obligated to work with us to find another nearby hotel which can accommodate both our sleeping rooms and meeting space to continue with our conference.

  We have explored all of our options to secure another union facility including reaching out locally to UNITE-HERE to identify union hotels that could host this event at such a short notice. Unfortunately no union hotels in the area had the capacity for our conference. Since the flood happened so close to the opening of the conference and guests have already begun to arrive, postponing the conference was not an option.

  Since our new hotel is not a union facility, we are encouraging conference participants to take the opportunity to talk about the benefits of forming a union with the staff.

  We have reached out to everyone who has registered for the conference, but we know that some people may be planning to attend who have not registered in advance. Please pass this information about our new conference location along to anyone who may be attending from your local. All reservations made through the CWA room block at the Hilton Phoenix Resort have been transferred to the new location:
