Iowa Envoy Members Organize and Mobilize to End Poverty Pay at American Airlines

While American Airlines earned $1.9 billion in profits last year (and CEO Doug Parker took home a cool $19 million), starting pay for passenger service agents working for the company’s regional subsidiary Envoy Air is less than $10 an hour. 27% of passenger service agents at Envoy rely on some form of public assistance to get by and another 60% rely on help from family and friends.

 

 

Last week, 35 Envoy workers in Iowa got off of the sidelines and into the fight to END POVERTY PAY at American by joining CWA. Working with Local 7040, passenger service agents in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and Dubuque are organizing and mobilizing for a fair first contract and to make Envoy CWA STRONG
