Subject:   2012 Civil Rights & Equity Conference    

The Committee on Civil Rights and Equity will host its 2012 conference in Houston, Texas, on July 13-15, 2012.  Additional details on the agenda and registration forms will be sent out at the end of February.

2012 will be another challenging year with the President, all of the House and one-third of the Senate up for election.  We are all aware of the attacks from the right that threaten one of the deepest values of America, democracy.  Many states have adopted new voting guidelines and laws that will make it harder for people from many walks of life to vote.  We cannot and will not allow this to happen.

This year’s conference will focus on training and tools needed to empower our members in the work we do at home and with our national partners and allies.  The principles outlined by the three sides of the CWA Triangle will continue to guide our work.

The Committee on Civil Rights and Equity is working hard to host a conference that will be motivating, inspiring and educational.  Watch for more details because we want to see YOU in Houston in July.
